The Golden Rule: Comfort Over Fashion
Quad biking is an outdoor activity in the Moroccan desert. Your clothing should prioritize comfort, protection, and practicality. Forget about looking stylish — you'll be covered in a light layer of desert dust by the end, and that's part of the fun.
What to Wear
Top
A light, breathable t-shirt or long-sleeve shirt. Long sleeves are better for sun protection and keep dust off your skin. Choose moisture-wicking fabric if possible — cotton gets heavy when sweaty.
Bottom
Long trousers are essential. Jeans work but can be hot in summer. Lightweight hiking trousers or cargo pants are ideal. They protect your legs from sun, dust, and minor scrapes.
Footwear
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory. Trainers/sneakers are perfect. No sandals, flip-flops, or open shoes. The quad's footrests and pedals require proper footwear for safety.
Head
A baseball cap or bandana under the helmet helps keep hair in place and absorbs sweat. The helmet is provided and must be worn at all times.
Eyes
Sunglasses are highly recommended. The desert sun is bright, and dust can get in your eyes during the ride. If you wear prescription glasses, wraparound sunglasses work well.
What NOT to Wear
- Shorts: Exposed legs get sunburned and scraped
- Flip-flops/sandals: Dangerous and not allowed
- Loose scarves or jewellery: Can get caught in the quad
- White clothing: Shows every speck of dust
- Expensive watches or rings: Better left at the hotel
Season-Specific Tips
Summer (June–August)
Temperatures can exceed 40°C. Wear the lightest clothing possible, bring extra water, and choose the 08:30 morning slot. A light scarf around your neck protects from sun and dust.
Winter (December–February)
Mornings can be cool (10–15°C). Bring a light jacket or hoodie that you can tie around your waist as it warms up. Layers are key.
Spring/Autumn
The most comfortable seasons. A light t-shirt and trousers are usually sufficient. A thin jacket for the 08:30 departure is wise.
