What Is Sandboarding?
Sandboarding is exactly what it sounds like — surfing on sand dunes. You stand on a specially designed board and slide down the face of a sand dune. It's easier than snowboarding for most people, and the warm Moroccan sand makes it even more forgiving.
Why Combine It with Quad Biking?
The best sand dunes near Agadir are located along the quad biking routes. By combining both activities, you get the most out of your desert trip — ride through the landscape on a quad, then step off and surf down the dunes.
How It Works
- Quad ride: Complete your quad biking experience (2–3 hours)
- Stop at the dunes: Your guide will find the best sand dunes along the route
- Sandboarding session: 1 hour of sandboarding with board and instruction
- Return: Ride back to base on your quad
Pricing
- Sandboarding add-on: 100 MAD per person
- Available with: Quad Biking Agadir (499 MAD) or Quad Biking Taghazout (600 MAD)
- Total with Quad Agadir: 599 MAD per person
- Total with Quad Taghazout: 700 MAD per person
Do I Need Experience?
No! Most people pick up sandboarding quickly. The sand is soft and forgiving, and your guide will teach you the basics in a few minutes. Standing up and sliding down a small dune is easy — mastering steeper dunes takes a bit more practice.
What to Bring
- Closed-toe shoes (trainers work fine)
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Water (included with the activity)
- Camera or phone for the incredible photos
Best Time for Sandboarding
Early morning (08:30 departure) offers the best conditions — cooler temperatures, softer light for photos, and fresh sand tracks. The afternoon session (14:00) is warmer but gives you golden hour light on the ride back.
